The ancient city of Odeso is the current Varna, in Bulgaria, and was founded by the Greeks of Miletus between the end of the 7th century BC, and the beginning of the 6th century BC.
History of Odeso
Throughout its history it has suffered constant attacks of the peoples of Thrace until it was destroyed by the getas, the Thracian tribe that lived along the Danube in Bulgaria, to later be conquered by Rome, integrating it to the empire in the province of Moesia.
In the 14th century it was occupied by the Ottoman Empire, while in 1610 and 1828, the Russians were the ones who conquered this city.
During the Crimean WarIn 1854, it became the base of operations for the Anglo-French troops.
Currently we can find a large number of archaeological remains in Varna dating mainly from the Roman period, such as the thermal baths, which are among the largest Roman remains in Bulgaria.
After studying History at the University and after many previous tests, Red Historia was born, a project that emerged as a means of dissemination where you can find the most important news of archeology, history and humanities, as well as articles of interest, curiosities and much more. In short, a meeting point for everyone where they can share information and continue learning.
