Asclepius, Aesculapius in Roman mythology, it was son of Apollo and Coronea and he is considered the god of medicine and healing in Greek mythology.

He is represented with a snake coiled on a staff, pinecones, laurel wreaths, a goat or a dog, although the snake is the most frequent, being an animal that, according to the ancients, lived both on the earth and in its interior.

He was instructed by the centaur Chiron in the art of medicine, its cures being wonderful, and it was even capable of raising the dead, as happened in the case of Hippolytus.

Due to the latter, he was struck down by Zeus with lightning and at that moment, he was elevated to deity.
